Day 434 – Monday 3rd July 2006

Lovely day today.

I had to go into work for a few hours today, so got kp up and ready for her hospital pre-op assessment before I left. Whilst I was away, she watered plants and put washing on the line. It was too hot to do much else, so she watched the tennis at the hottest time of the day.

At the hospital, they assessed kp’s blood, her wounds where mrsa grew before, urine, blood pressure, weight, height, medication etc etc….They also did an ECG…………

It all went swimmingly, and kp got over how worried she was about being sick and the fact she REALLY didn’t want any more hallucinating episodes like one of the previous ops where she didn’t believe ANY of us that we had taken her back to the right room. It really disturbed her, despite it being funny to all those who were involved. kp still adamantly believes the nurses were lying ! ;-)

So, we are all set for Thursday :-)

When we got home, Marie, Glenn, Adele, Abbie and Louisa arrived with a fish supper. We ate outside because of the gorgeous (if not too hot) weather.

Here’s the crew posing for a photo….

Donovans at kp's

Marie had bought a load of clothes at hugely discounted rates and was keen to show her 90% off bargains ! I kid you not ! This pair of shorts was £10, Marie got them for 99p !! I am sure she swaps price tags in the shop.

We had a lovely time with the family. The kids got a bit over-excited (as per usual) and Abby threw a ball really hard, but it went off course and hit kp square on her stomach. She felt very guilty and started crying whilst sat on the floor. We tried to coax her to apologise to Karen, but I think she was too embarassed. Here she is in full tear flow sulk mode.

She came round shortly after – it was a thoroughbly enjoyable visit overall.

Adele has stayed on as she is doing our cleaning tomorrow :-)
