Day 73 – Sunday 10th July – Part Two – Addendum
Bit confused. Just had a call from Marie. She was present when the anaesthetist came round to talk to Karen. One of the things she said in passing, was that Karen’s operation tomorrow was going to be quite an extensive one. Marie didn’t want to ask her what she meant by that while Karen was present, as she is anxious enough.
Our understanding was is was just going to be a bit of a cleanout of an infected wound.
We are both aware that kp has MRSA in the infected wound and that it can be fatal if it gets in the bloodstream. Had a telephone conversation just now with the Sister and she has put my mind at risk. It IS just a cleanout and a removal of the abscess. Very little risk of MRSA getting into bloodstream as they will put AntiBiotic Beads (!?) in the wound. So, I feel better.

Heh Blondie,nurse calamity logging in to blog update !!! I have been working all weekend HEY HO The glamour puss life for me!!!! NOT , WOWEEEEEeeeeee A bath,i can only imagine how great that felt KP.A few high kicks and a spa experience,!!! LOL nudge nudge wink wink say no more. As for tomorrow,no probs,i am surprised titters didn t say ( I SEE YOU BABY SHAKING THAT ASS !!!)SHAKING THAT ASS !!! Great to hear you have progressed to having baths, bet that feels more normal and real life doesn’t it?
Nurse Pollard definitely taking the role seriously, injections!! Whatever next???

Hi Karen,
Monday lunchtime and I’m hoping for your sake that they got the op over and done with first thing. Not what you want I know, but it has to get done and you will be feeling so much better without an abscess on you bum. I’m sure Jane will be there with you. I’m thinking of making a mid week trip, next week, when you’ve had time to recover from the op.
Picking Jane up from the airport was not incident free, she’ll tell you the story, it starts with her saying “Go on Ronnie do something”!! It happened within 5 minutes of meeting her. People were starting to think I was some type of medical expert, Dp where were you when we needed you. Norma and Phill arrived 1/2 after Jane so we met up with them for a chat and beer before heading off.
Listen kid I know you aren’t going to be on TF for a few days, but do take care, Hope to see you next week.
