Day 71 – Friday 8th July – Part One
Good Night’s Sleep and Good Breakfast. The pain patch seems to have got things heading in the right direction again.
Snooze after breakfast before bedbath. She didn’t want a full bath, but she is going for that tomorrow – yay !
After the bedbath, we both had a sleep until the physios came. It was a beautiful morning outside so I was keen to get kp out for some fresh air. The wheelchair that has been ordered for her hasn’t arrived, so I purloined one from the corridors and she had her physio session in that.
Lunch followed physio and then we went outside. It was lovely, but by this stage, she had nearly been an hour in the chair and was aching in her cocchyx.
Back to the room and a hoist ride to the bed. Quite an uneventful morning really.

Hi Karen,
Jane has just sent a text asking how you are, told her about your new room, you beating off last weeks infection etc, she’ll be with you soon.
She also wanted to know about the situation in London – between me and you (and the rest of the bloggers) I’m guessing she’s a bit nervous about landing in Heathrow. Don’t know what you think but I reckon I’m in for picking up a rather flustered Jane – I think I’ll gag her stick her in a wheelchair and get her out of the airport pronto. If I can’t gag her I’ll just tell her to shut up and suck on one of those alco pop things she likes. I don’t know if she’s legging it straight back home on Saturday night but I really don’t think she should after such a long flight and what with her leg and all, she needs to rest and travel Sunday.
I’ve been no where near London today as we were given the option of working from home – so I have – yippeee.
What’s this about Dp nicking someone elses wheelchair – OK I’ve exagerated a bit, hope you don’t get into trouble Dp, you’ve been on such good behaviour lately, there’s been no tickings off about the blog and then you go and abscond with Kp outside in the wheelchair. Keep it up Dp!!!
Take care Karen,
Wish I could make it all alright for you NOW! But as the doc’s have always said, slower progress is the best progress and that’s what you are doing, so keep at it. We’ll all be here ready and awaiting whenever.
Just to remind you while you’ve been layed up we (Jane and I) have put the following in your diary.
1. Wimbledon 2006
2. Visit to Burges (Roy offered us his gaff the otherweekend when Jane was here – she love’s Bruges so we are off)
3. Trip to Spain – constantly on VD’s and JB’s list.
4. Visit to the caravan – annual event as normal
5. No doubt Thailand as Jane won’t shut up about it when she gets back, but can’t imagine her getting Tony there, unless you are able to nick some serious drugs to knock him out for a day.
6. 2012 Olympics
Not a bad list for starters, though I’m sure you’ll be planning most of your time with Dp, and what a great time that will be for you both.
Better bugger off now as I’m obviously not getting much work done.
Love
Veronica
