Day 63 – Thursday 30th June – Part Two
Poor Marie. Shortly after I left, kp had her physio session, then kp fell asleep until the moment I arrived back. Marie didn’t get any private time with kp to have a natter. Maybe tomorrow.
The physio has said that tomorrow they are going to put kp on the edge of the bed with her feet dangling off to give her the sensation of balancing her torso in preparation to standing up. Very exciting ! It’s something for kp to aim for and look forward to.
Dinner tonight was Cottage Pie and Sliced Potatoes. kp gave it a go and ate all the cottage pie element of the meal, which was good. Her appetite is picking up slowly. Tomorrow is Fish and Chip Day – it’s lovely. In Ward 3, an extra portion would appear from nowhere for me, which was great. Tomorrow, I’ll just tell Karen that they have missed you today, how do you fancy some soup ?
After dinner, I was falling asleep while kp was watching the tennis. I couldn’t bear the grunting women, so fell asleep with my head on the bed. That got uncomfortable so I got the bedchair out and had an hour on that. When I woke up, kp was out for the count. She woke up when I tried to quietly put the bedchair away unsuccesfully. We had 5 mins of natter, but she wanted to sleep again. I prepared the room for the sleep (buzzer, sick bowl, water, phone) and did my usual “See you tomorrow, love you…” and left.
kp was asleep by 8.10pm tonight

Hi Mrs P,well what can i say,get that chin up and keep fighting,no more going down the pan talk.Whats a little infection compared to the things you have faced so far.Should nurses CALAMITY AND TITTERS GET A SHIFT ON YOUR WARD,WHAHhhhhhhh, now thats scary i hear you saying to DAVID. I HOPE THE chillow was a success.You could give DAVID a renditon of, I LIKE TO PLAY MY YELLELOW BANJELLELOW THEN SNOOZE ON MY CHILLILOW!!!Please sing it for DAVID and sister act so they dont think i have lost the plot KP. you dont do things by half do you girl.If a new infection comes out you pick it up, I thought it was just me that did that but mine are only coughs and colds you go the hole hog. We will have no more talk about going down the pan thank you.You are bound to have good and bad days after what happened to you but you are an inspiration to us all. You have things to look forward to like sitting up in the next few days it will get your mind working on something different as boardom makes the situation worse.Hope you are feeling a bit brighter today if not today then tommorow.Give David a kick up the bum he is sleeping far to much tell him to find something better to do with his time there,(only joking David)Keep up the good work everyone.Margo

KP…..loopy is right…FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT……AND SOD THAT C-DIFF…U’L BEAT IT…. and we’l have no more of Pan comments either… you know you dont give yourself any credit……you hve done so well, and well i guess you have earned a few down days too, but i know ,as does sister pollard,sister act ,oh and loopy,(carnt leave her out)you’l kick this c-diff right out the park…..footy boots on order….size 5 i guess…
ok no visitor’s till your up to it…thats fine bezza….will ring marie ref…fresh strawberrys and dropping off at ward entrance…oh it will be a bit like a drug deal……’so david that 24ogm of coke, 100 E’s,and half pound of strawberry(washed and cored)…..no problem mate..
