Preface

Written by David Pollard on June 7th, 2009

Just to give a little history. I am not completely new to private flying. I had a private pilot’s licence in light aircraft (PPL(A) as it was referred to), back in 1984 (when I was 17), and did about 50-60 hours of light aircraft flying, mostly in the UK, but some flying in Wisconsin and Nashville (in the US of A). The majority of my experience in the air is on microlight aircraft, where I did about 150-160 hours of flying including a very memorable 3 week trip completely around the coast of the UK. Happy memories !

But, because I met my (then-to-be) wife in 1990, I gave it all in and haven’t flown privately since.
