Weather forecast not too clever this week

But, that suits the theory revision I need to do. Principles of Flight – Technical “H” is the book of choice. Lesson booked for friday. Once this test is past and hopefully passed (sic), I’ll ramp up the practical flying side and make the most of the rest of the British Summer ;-)

HI–having fun reading about your helicopter lessons—I have 1200 hours fixed wing and contemplating adding rotary—probably a R44—currently have a 2007 Cirrus SR22 GTS–great plane for getting from point A to B—-the R44 looks like it would be pure FUN to fly and a good challenge to do well!! Tom

Hi Tom. Just had a look at the Cirrus SR22 – looks like a great plane to fly from the pictures I’ve found on the internet (inside and outside the cockpit).

Pleased you’re enjoying the blog. Your extensive fixed wing experience will undoubtedly help the transition to the fun of rotary, or that’s what I’ve found. Beware, you may want to sell your Cirrus if you dabble in rotary wing ;-)

R44′s are quite expensive to learn in, here in the UK. I think you’re looking at about £470 ($700) an hour, basically double an R22, but I get the impression that they are a lot easier to fly and safer !

I hope you give it a whirl, I don’t think you’ll look back and let me know what you think of it !! :-)
