She has started reading the blog. We read through up to the middle of June last year together, and she has been trying to catch up so she is upto this day last year, with the idea being she will then read one entry each day (i.e. this day last year). This should give her a good indication of how she has improved over a year. We came across this funny from Day 38 - Sunday 5th June 2005…..Let me set the scene…… Karen is a week out of Intensive Care, still bed-ridden, not mentally upto speed and on Ward 3 at the Q.E. My dad made the 100-mile trip up from Lancashire today. kp was quiet for the most part, but we did have 1 gem. I had given dad an orange to peel for kp, while I degowned and went to get some cold water. Dad, like me, doesn’t go in for foods that need a lot of faff to get to the food itself and doesn’t eat oranges for this reason. Had a goood journey back, had a Saturday night disco with me, Freddy the Ford Focus and the M1, played all the 70's oldies all the way back to Surbiton. Called all the Dennisons to let them know how well you are doing, smiles all round from them! I hope my visit didn't tire you out too much. You do need your rest but once the antibiotics have kicked in for the infection I know you'll be back to TF (Top Form) and Queenie will be recieving visitors with a regal wave. It was really great to see you, take it easy this week. I'm back on the old tredmill London (Mon, Tues), Manchester(Wed, Thurs) then home Thursday evening, in London Friday, but will blog inbetween. So keep on doing what you do best and give "the finger" to this infection!!! Will blog soon, take care. Love Veronica (Ronnie) Hello Karen,

I have left a message for Marie today to arrange to visit but will do so at Karens convenience whatever timescale that may be. Hope that the anti sickness tablet helps, I know the nausea from tablet reaction can be horrible. Not lost your sense of humour though, couldn't they invent ready peeled oranges for the men!! Keep your chin up, every long journey starts with the first small step and you have already taken so many.
